How to express yourself - social media dilemmas?

Socially expressing yourself - dilemmas:

We get ideas, themes and topics to write about. Facebook, Twitter etc. provide ample opportunities to express yourself. Some people chose to pen their thoughts in the form of personal blogs in various websites that are freely available (such as this one for instance or wordpress etc.).

In Facebook or Twitter, it works differently.  Ideally you should not post more than 5-10 lines of text as a status post on your timeline.  The more the text or information you share, the less is the chance of getting attention by your reader community, viz. your circle of friends, acquaintances and so on.

You may be member of so many Facebook groups, but as long as you don't express yourself brief and precise, nobody is reading the content and your message is NOT sent across.

I have personally experienced this many a times. Many people complained to me as if I am writing long posts, even during commenting on someone's post.

When it comes to writing something, choice of language is a main concern here. You may be very well conversant in English or mother tongue or many more languages. You may be getting ideas to express in mother tongue, but the auidence expectation would be in English due to their own situations like: they don't know your language; they don't want to read long posts whatever language your posts might be in; psychologically nobody has the luxury of time to spare to read long posts.

As long as you are precise and short, your posts would be read by all and sundry. Leave aside the response you get, you are blessed if you few likes and comments, so you get an impetus to write more and more.

If you are comfortable in English and write in that language, many of your friends' circle would prefer you to write in your mother tongue that they share with you.  In this case, your English-preferring friends cannot read, so again, your message is NOT sent across.

If you choose to write in your personal blog and provide a link in Twitter or Facebook for instance, then your job ends there.  It is upto the audience to take it or leave it.  For you, you had something to say, you had something to express on certain topic of interest; you may be writing out of sheer passion on any faculty of thoughts or school of thoughts, be it politics, religion, spiritualism, science and technology, health, social life, interpersonal relationship issues, your own views on so many research topics that might be of anyone's interest, educational aspirations, educating someone. It can be any faculty that you are willing to express yourself, but, you need to get suitable audience to read your blogs.

(to be continued).
